Academic Profile

Aída Vázquez – Administrative Manager – Doesn’t really like English. Only took it at school. She wants to do TOEFL and get 900 points for a master’s degree. She doesn’t really get the chance to practice English and actually tries to avoid it but she has a good beginner level. She is not starting from scratch, has some of the vocabulary, grammar, her accuracy is good and she understands every question. She feels that she needs more grammar and wants it to be one of the main focus. She also needs connectors and stronger sentences structure.

Ernesto Ochoa – Finance – He really likes the language but hasn’t been able to study properly. Listens to music and watches some media. Beginner, he wants to mainly learn general English before going into professional topics. He is eager to learn but know it will be a process. Needs to work on basic vocabulary, listening skills and structure of ideas.

Jesús Alberto Díaz – Finance – He just studied English at school. Writing is something that he mentioned is very difficult for him. Listening is ok, some repetition was necessary for him to understand the questions, and he also needed to use Spanish in all of his answers to complete them. He is a beginner but has some of the basic vocabulary. He wants to focus in both professional and general aspects of the language.

Luis Ángel Ley – Accountant – He’s only had classes in high school and one semester during collage. He is a true beginner but has good attitude towards learning.

María Fernanda Beltrán – Audit for a half of the year and then focus on Finances – Only took English classes at school, never took classes or courses apart from that. She sometimes uses apps like Duolingo. She would like to be able to communicate first, like when she goes traveling but also be able to see it in the professional field. She needs to practice listening skills and also get basic vocabulary. She knows some basic verbs and routinary actions but really struggled when answering the questions. She couldn’t answer one of them.
