Sue Torres is a shoe buyer and designer at Coppel. She works in the Leon office. She has a hearing impairment, however, that doesn’t really affect her that much. This only means that the consultants needs to talk a bit slower and, preferably, if she does listening, she needs the transcript of the subtitles. She doesn’t have any problems with reading or with writing. Obviously, she needs to work more on pronunciation, especially S, T, and R sounds that are for her a big challenge, especially the end of words. She also sometimes has trouble with the subject-verb-object sentence structure a well as with learning more complex structures; she has trouble with placing them correctly. She needs to be reminded that any structure in English is really, bottom line, the subject-verb-object, no matter how complex the sentence. Currently she has a trip to China, so we are preparing her. When she comes back we will have to see what would she want to focus in but probably she will continue with the buyer’s curricula. She is a solid intermediate when it comes to her skills. She started with us as a low intermediate.
